The Course
For students age 13-18. In six week increments, we teach animation as an art! We start with hand drawn animation building into computer animation and animated filmmaking just the way the great pros did it! Free “atelier” lab time with peers and live support from instructor included with enrollment.
Students launch their study of animation like the pros! Beginning with 2D Hand Drawn Animation, they learn to portray the nature of an object through its unique motion characteristics. (6 weeks)

Building Character! Using their knowledge from Hand Drawn Animation 1, students broaden their skills through exploring how to use human motion and body mechanics to show character. (6 weeks)
Weight! Timing! Rigs! Modeling! Students amplify their animation skills and enter the world of 3D Computer Animation ready to combine an expressive animation background with art technology.

Rigging! Texturing! Dynamics! Delving into advanced topics in computer animation, students learn to articulate their characters for more complex movement, shape their appearance and use technology to create effects that would be impossible to create by hand. (6 weeks)

First Film! In this capstone course, students use the artistry and technical skills they’ve practiced in Levels 1 – 4 to produce their first film from start to finish! (6 weeks)
