Course Software

For 3D Animation classes, Animation Atelier uses the free, open source animation software Blender, which is used by major film and video games studios.  Blender is required for all 3D courses. Please make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements for Blender, and Blender is downloaded and installed on your computer before your first class.

For 2D Animation classes, Students are required to use Blender or Rough Animator, which is also available on iPad and Android!  Additionally,  students can (but are not required to) use OpenTooz  for 2D Hand Drawn Animation.

 

Our storyboarding classes are software agnostic.   All you need is a way to draw and share your drawings online, and put them in files.  We are happy to make suggestions about methods/tools.  Just get in touch!
