CORE PRINCIPLES

Teens 13 – 18 learn and workshop the Twelve Principles of Animation. Over six lessons, students explore the skills that make animation dynamic!

 

Award winning animator / master instructor Conor MacFinn demonstrates and supports junior animators as they share inspiration and work in a live small group class. Creative thinking, taking and sharing constructive feedback, and self-expression are life-skills teens gain while having fun visualizing and working towards a goal.

3D COMPUTER ANIMATION II

EXPERT PRINCIPLES

Prereq. Computer Animation I

Teens 13 – 18 animate their 1st film and model a humanoid!

 

Over six weeks, students practice modeling, rigging, animation, lighting, and rendering led by award winning animator / master teacher Conor MacFinn. Demonstrations in this live, online class expand their animation skills.

 

Working alongside peers in a supportive small group, teens have fun, become stronger, more expressive animators, engage in constructive feedback, and visualize and work towards a goal.

3D COMPUTER ANIMATION III

MASTER PRINCIPLES

Prereq. Computer Animation II

Teens 13 – 18 animate their own short with a fully articulated character!

 

Over twelve weeks, students deepen their knowledge of modeling, rigging, animation, lighting and rendering, and add the use of constraints, multiple limbs and more complex physics are refined.

 

Through demonstrations from award winning animator / master teacher Conor MacFinn, collaboration, and independent work, teens master self-expression and team feedback - and envision and achieve their artistic goals!

Advanced Animation

Character Animation I

Prereq. Computer Animation III

 

In this twelve-week course, teens 13- 18 embark on the journey of breathing life into a character!

 

Learning and practicing the basics of body mechanics, locomotion, and weight with award winning animator / master teacher Conor MacFinn, teens turn their models into individuals. Through independent work, instructor support and collaborative feedback in this live, small group class, students begin to bring their creative ideas to life with personality and movement.

Advanced Animation

Character Animation II

Prereq. Advanced Character Animation I

In twelve weeks, teens create two complex character animations!

​

Learning from live demonstrations and feedback from award-winning animator / master teacher Conor MacFinn, teens work independently to use advanced body mechanics, movement and animation techniques and their creativity to fully individuate their characters. Teens have fun sharing their inspirations and supportive suggestions to build unique personalities through animation in this small group class.

Advanced Animation

Character Animation III

Prereq. Advanced Character Animation II

In this capstone course, students add Lip Sync, Pantomime and Acting skills to create animation for their reels!

 

Guided by award winning animator / master teacher Conor MacFinn, teens use their imaginations to decide on character traits and choose a voice track to animate. Instructor and peer support and interactive feedback provide inspiration and encouragement in this live, small group class as teens meet the goal of polishing their first demo reel!
