2D Hand Drawn Animation I

Core Principles

Over six weeks, teens aged 13 - 18 begin their animation journey while having fun making short animations which explore the art’s Twelve Principles defined by famed Disney Animators!

Teens exercise their creativity using the magic of animation to make character drawings come alive, inspired by a seasoned pro animator / instructors’ demonstration and feedback. Students acquire new skills and share constructive tips and ideas with peers in this small, supportive group class, while organizing and completing expressive artistic projects.

Free “atelier” lab time with peers and live support from instructor included with enrollment.

2D Hand Drawn Animation I

Over the next six weeks, students aged 13 – 18 continue their animation journey, ending this section with an animation portraying two distinct characters!

Led by an expert animator / teacher, teens explore The Twelve Principles of Animation in-depth, inspired by their own imagination and stimulated by lively instructor demonstrations and thoughtful feedback. In this live, small group class, students challenge themselves and support one another as they build animation teamwork and work on the completion of their original creative projects.

Master Principles

2D Hand Drawn Animation II

In this twelve-week class, students learn to use timing, spacing and physics to create body movements that show individual character, and animate an original “short-short” film!

An expert animator / teacher inspires teens aged 13 – 18 with demonstrations and instructional responses that help junior animators strengthen their technique and range. In this live small group class, classmates share original ideas and constructive feedback with peers and have fun visualizing and achieving their artistic goals in a capstone project of their own devising.
